Watch out for a personal favourite of mine in there by Motiv One; Cosmik. Motiv One of course going onto record as the very different sounding Twisted Anger for Ray Keith’s “Dread Recordings” at the turn of the millenium.

On a rainy afternoon there is not much else to do but dig through the tracks, get a bit dusty and drink copious amounts of tea; and this mix is the end result.

The mix covers a nice spectrum of deep, atmospheric and ‘intelligent’ beats from 1994 to 1996, peppered, as you would expect, with Good Looking and Moving Shadow releases.
Within a few tracks such as the uplifting ‘Travelling Pt 2‘ and Gwange’s ‘Motionless‘ you can still very much hear the 1993 hardcore influences trying to get escape, in contrast to the more laid back and perhaps refined drum and bass sounds of later releases like ‘Dusted‘ by Axis or PFM’s take of David Holmes – Gone.

Enough talk now, allow 70 or so minutes to drift away…..

In 1993, Foul Play, Omni Trio, JMJ & Richie, Cloud 9 and Hyper On Experience to name a few; were all at the top of their game.

Two of them combined here to create a fantastic remix of the already great Hall Of Mirrors.
Omni Trio did what Foul Play had done so well; created a remix of a great tune but toughened it up and maybe simplified it a little for the dance floor.
Rob Haigh’s remix here takes away some of the elements of the original and add’s his own unique sound, with stuttery sub bass and twinkly keys and vox.
If you proclaim to be a Jungle fan but don’t get chills from this, something maybe wrong.

Yesterday i was on the phone with Mr. LTJ Bukem and we start talking about Wax Doctor and some old skool jungle tunes.
