Pascal – P-Funk Era (Unreleased DJ Zinc Mix)
The great DJ Zinc may have mostly left D&B behind these days but there is no doubting his legacy and contribution to the genre and UK dance music in general.
After a few early releases he starting out alongside Hype on their label Ganja Records where created one of D&B’s biggest anthems in Super Sharp Shooter.
True Playaz was born shortly after in 1996 with both Hype and Pascal releasing tracks like Reach Out, before launching his own imprint Bingo around 2000.
Bingo was an outlet for his own production, both D&B and his experiments around 130bpm including the huge 138 Trek which was one of the biggest anthems of the UK Garage explosion at the turn of the millennium.
Now days Zinc has been focusing on his own brand of ‘crack’ house and housey numbers, often collaborating with the UK’s major dubstep producers.
But he has found time to delve into his Jungle past to bring us his own, and very much unreleased remix of Pascal’s huge G-Funk, KRS One sampling anthem; P-Funk Era.
