If you are a fan of atmospheric Drum and Bass there is a good chance you’ll know Scottish DJ and producer KMC.
He was one of few DJs (at the time) in Scotland who pioneered jungle in the midsts of the much more common happy hardcore and gabber scene of 90s.
He went on to launch one of Edinburgh’s first regular D&B nights called ‘Jungle Book’, where LTJ Bukem made his first appearance DJing in Scotland.
KMC went on to have releases on a few of the premier atmospheric D&B labels of the 90s, including Looking Good, Timeless and Partisan. A personal favourite of mine being ‘System‘ released on Bukem’s Looking Good records in 1999, which also proved to one of the last vinyl releases for KMC.
After leaving GLO stable, on apparently less than admirable terms like many artists on the labels roster, Keith McKnight (KMC) took a break from music but as has begun producing new tracks in the last couple of years – check out his Soundcloud account at soundcloud.com/kmc.
This tape rip was sent in by Drumtrip reader Lixx from his personal collection. Not much information on it other than, its a Fusion tape from 1996.
