In reply to Dan. Cheers Dan. Yeah I agree, Drum and bass might be a different genre if it were not of the Blue Note. It only reinforced the huge influence Goldie has had on the scene, not just with his music but with his label and this night.

Thanks for the mix and the Redbull link – that interview is spot on. That period of creativity in the mid 90s was so intense. I remember the music changing and becoming ever more sophisticated every 6 months from 1994 onwards then 96-97 it just seemed to ramp up. When you read the interview, it makes you realise how much the Blue Note nights were fuelling some of the scenes best technical producers to outdo each other week in week out. Without that club the music may have been very different…
I thank my lucky stars I managed to attend a couple of those Sunday nights back in 1997.
