TOTD: Rob Andrews ‘Length & Strength’

Here’s a gem for all you ragga junglists out there, whilst not necessarily as in your face as most amen driven ragga jungle tunes, its super heavy sub, rolling beats and an arrangement which consistently builds up throughout the tune, all add up to a sure fire winning track.

Released on Fokus Studio Productions which was a sub label of Fokus Recordings, the tune’s quality no doubt benefits from having been engineered by Little Matt aka Optical who was I believe the in house engineer for Fokus Recordings at some stage.
Rob Andrews himself doesn’t appear to have had many other releases, just another on the same label which we may feature next time.

This tune first came to my attention after being played by Mickey Finn at AWOL in 1994 and it was a little while before I happily found out it’s name and producer. Hopefully some of you will recognise it from the same place. Enjoy!
