LTJ BukemA mix I did in 2007, showcasing nearly all of Bukem’s early work (post Logical Progression on VMR).

All the classics are there with Demons Theme (the tune that kicked off the GLO), the sought after Bookworm release and a few lesser talked about remixes.

With so many classic’s it is hard to choose a favourite Bukem tune but after much deliberation I have decided it is the wondrous ‘Music’. I could listen to that bell sample all day long and although not many play the tune in its entirety; if you let it get to around 5 minutes the track becomes very dark and ominous with some really inventive percussion for its time.
Such progression throughout means it probably wins for me, let us know your favorite Danny Bukem track.

01.. LTJ Bukem – Demons Theme – Good Looking

    beautiful, cheers mate.

I vote for Atlantis, that ‘I want you, I need you’ sample just brings tears to the eyes.

Ah yes that sample is amazing, it’s a timeless tune. It just isnt the same for me after hearing it one million times though.

The Feenin’ remix is my favorite by far, so I’m glad to see it made the cut. Sweet mix!

Yeah Feenin’ is a great tune. So cheap to get hold of too, it got included our ‘Bargain Jungle’ section quite a while ago here; http://drumtrip.co.uk/bargain/bargain-jungle-jodeci-feenin-ltj-bukem-remix/

LTJ is and always will be on another level. I saw him in NYC on the first Progression Tour, and his mixing/programming just floored me.
Big up to Law for putting this together and mixing some of the more out of the way tunes…

I would love to have seen that gig in NYC.
    Thanks for listening!

Awesome mix! So hard to chose the one.My choice is obviously “The Bookwork – Listen”. 2nd part is stunning, nver heard it before.
Big thanks for such a brilliant mix, is that all on vinyl ?

    Hi mate.
Thanks for the comments and yes, it is all on vinyl.
Took me quite a while to track down too, especially The Bookworm release!

  • Malc

Great mix. So many awesome tunes it’s impossible to choose my favourite. It’s a tie between Music, Rainfall and Atlantis for me.

  • carolinesimone

he is number one for outstanding inspiration, when back in the day he was slated for not doing what the others did, and remained true to his art – his sound – and evolved with it to be still sounding fresh upon his full cycle … SALUTATIONS ^|^

  • Pleinmont

its got to be Listen (Bookworm Vol 1) for me – that track took me places in 1994 on my walkman. The breakdown… This could be the most important day in your life, IF you listen to me…. magical stuff!
    Thanks!

  • Mikus

Fair play to Peshay – I think his Music remix took it the original to 11…
