It’s been a while since the last post, for various reasons but we return with a new bargain jungle selection.
As touched on previously, around 1995 to 97 D&B was celebrated in the UK media as a creative outlet for the urban youth of the time and everyone wanted a piece.
Legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold, one of the pioneers of the Balearic club scene in the late 80′s opted for who else but LTJ Bukem to create a deep Drum and Bass remix for Grace’s trance anthem ‘If I Could Fly’.
As the remix name suggests, it’s a smooth roller which works either at home to relax to, or on the club floor.
One of the Bukem’s lesser known remixes but also one of the cheapest, partly due to an en masse pressing thanks to the huge popularity of Oakenfold’s Perfecto label at the time.
Pick up a copy (with the Trance mixes) from Discogs for as little as 50 pence!
You can also check this track along with the rest of his remixes and releases on my Biography of LTJ Bukem mix.
Main author and creator of Drumtrip.
I have been listening to and mixing drum and bass in its various forms since 1998.
Drumtrip was designed to celebrate what I consider the genre's peak years of 1992 to 1996.
