Law, Kola Nut, Stimpy, Ripon & J Funk – The Essential Jungle Mix

3 Mar
2010

Myself and a few others knocked this up way back in 2006, and fitting perfectly in our designated timezone at Drumtrip, it makes sense to add it.

You can see the original 2006 thread at breakbeat.co.uk here

This basically consisted of each DJ doing their seperate parts, and then my good self pasted them all together in Soundforge to create one uber trans-atlantic mega mix.
So I did my mix, and let the last tune play out, and sent to to Kola, who mixed into it, Did the same and sent it back. And I glued them together and so on.
All mixes are real, no editing has gone on the actual mixes themselves, just to make the mix continious.

Featuring tunes from 1993 to 1997, covers a wide range of Jungle styles with some of our favourite tracks. No anthem biz, some proper out the crates biz.

5 DJs, 6 tracks each (bar J, he is above that)

Looks like….

Law

02.. DJ Crystl – Warp Drive – Dee Jay [1993]
03.. Source Direct – The Crane – Source Direct [1996]
04.. DJ Crystl – Your Destiny – Dee Jay [1994]

14.. DJ Gwange – Adrenalin – Legend [1994]
15.. Studio Pressure – The Lightning – Photek [1994]
16.. Unit 1 – Theme – Creative Wax [1993]
17.. Dillinja – Rastafari – Deadly Vinyl [1994]

28.. Smokey Joe – Special Request – (Noise of Art remix) Labello Blanco [1994]

This is such an obvious idea, must have been done before but I can’t remember any D&B sets like it, so until someone states otherwise. This is a world first

There was a messageboard mix where a bunch of dj’s mixed the entire hospital catalogue in this manner, shorter sets sewn together for continuity. I don’t know if they ever finished it though.

Either way, this mix is sick! Keep em rolling

That was on Drum & Bass Arena forums I think, They did that sometime after this mix which is pretty old now. They finished it, it was really good.
Cheers!
